Here’s some brief information about me and where I come from.
-
My name is Jarod Jordan.
I am a 3D Artist with a focus in Hard Surface Modeling and Unreal Engine implementation. -
I grew up in a small farm town by the name of Fremont, Michigan. Getting into gaming and computer science definitely wasn’t the norm for a rural town like Fremont. Nevertheless, I am forever hooked on game development.
My passion for game development really took off when I discovered Unreal Editor 2.0 in my installation of Unreal Tournament (1999), a well revered arena shooter. I created hundreds of custom levels for the game, which I would then test frequently and send to friends. It was a very rewarding feeling, learning the engine and then using it to create the worlds and concepts I see in my head. -
I attend Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, for the Digital Animation and Game Design Program. I am considered a senior, though I attend part-time so I may hold a job on the side. Originally, my intention was to attend college for software programming, but I soon realized that 3D design is my true passion.
I also attended Newaygo County Career Tech Center for 2 years while in High School, both years consisting of Mechanical Engineering. This included 2D+3D drafting, metal shop, and electronics work. These skills are incredibly valuable tools I continue to utilize in my work, today. -
My favorite game changes day to day. I own and play hundreds of games on my custom built PC, all the time. It’s my favorite past-time/hobby. So here’s a list of games that hold a special place in my heart, each for different reasons:
Outer Wilds
Noita
Streets of Rogue
Halo
Splitgate
Unreal Tournament
Grand Theft Auto
Elden Ring
